Lake Zürich links the city of
Zürich with Rapperswil, the City of Roses. The journey from Zürich
by train or
car takes a good half an hour, while the
trip by boat is somewhat more leisurely. The imposing medieval castle and
the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland are just two of
the highlights of the “Riviera” at the upper
end of Lake Zürich. The aquatic park, Alpamare, and the 700-meter
long giant slide in Atzmännig also provide fun for all
the family. Real circus animals can be viewed at Knie’s
Children’s Zoo, but that’s not all: here visitors can feed
the animals, take a ride on an elephant and marvel at
the legendary sea lion
show.
