Directive to the City Council regarding the EURO 2008 property loan
Zürich is a Host City for the European Football Championship UEFA EURO 2008 Austria/SwitzerlandTM (EURO 2008).
EURO 2008 is the biggest event to take place in Zürich since the Swiss National Exhibition “Landi 1939”. Worldwide, this is the third-biggest sporting event and is the largest ever in Switzerland. Appropriately generous public funding is hence required.
As well as sharing the burden, the City of Zürich will be participating in the material and immaterial benefits generated by EURO 2008.
